At first glance you might think: “something is not right with these stairs” and you would be right! This shopping center built a short flight of stairs with 4″ tread risers which in violation of the building code which calls for 7″ risers.
Why does this matter? Look no further than President Joe Biden, who when walking up Air Force One’s stairway, caught the toe of his shoe on the edge of a step causing him to stumble and fall forwards. Stair geometry matters! This property owner gets an “A” for proper handrail design and a “D” for step geometry.
